How Does It Work?
Our non-linear, random access workflow is capable of transferring any digital or film
format to SD, HD, 2K or 4K throughout any stage of the post-production process. New
Hat’s colorists work on top-of-the-line equipment including two Spirit 4K's from Digital
Film Technology - the ultimate for high-resolution material and real-time playback.
New Hat’s three color suites and Digital Intermediate (DI) Theater are equipped with
Baselight 4 color grading systems that link directly to our 300 TB DDN SAN.
Baselight systems incorporate Truelight color management software for consistent
color grading. By simulating the film-out process, Truelight compensates for variables
and ensures true, reliable colors on any display. With such technology, our renowned
colorists are able to apply layers of color and refine the subtlest of hues and gradations
to make achieving the final vision a seamless process for the client.
