Michael Lafuente
Technical Director
Michael Lafuente hails from Dallas, Texas where he earned a Bachelors degree in Radio, TV & Film from the University of North Texas. After graduating, Michael worked as a trainer and product specialist of Discreet and Avid visual effects products covering the Dallas, Austin, Chicago and Detroit markets. Later, he moved to Los Angeles to join Sony VFX America to work on the Socratto project, a software compositor based on Imagework’s Bonsai software. This led him to work as a visual effects engineer at R!OT Picture’s VFX department where he is credited on such films as Kill Bill, Team America: World Police, Sky Captain and World of Tomorrow, Angeles in America and Terminator 3. Michael left R!OT to join Filmlight as the lead trainer and customer support manager for the Americas office. Michael helped train, design and integrated Baselight color correction systems at many Digital Intermediate studios throughout the Americas. He is currently New Hat's Technical Director where he helped design their data centric workflow. Michael spends his free time tuning and racing motorcycles. |
